Botanical Explorations

I have always loved flowers not only they are beautiful but it's just the way they make you feel, instantaneously happy and calm. There is a little exercise that I had been doing for few days , painting flowers sometimes in watercolor other times in mixed media . As a subject I find it to be very very forgiving and diverse. As I had mentioned before I like organic shapes and flowers fall into that same pattern .I don't know being a kid I always thought that botanicals are really hard to paint but later on in college when I had Botany( the study of plant life) as a minor I had to draw diverse type of flowers and leaves and anything and everything in between as a part of my credits and only then I found them to be magical and very satisfying.
